 Richard P. Simmons

A ceremony celebrating the life of Richard P. Simmons will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am, at First United Methodist Church North Blvd Baton Rouge. Interment will be at Louisiana National Cemetery. He graduated from Georgetown University in Washington D. C., retired from The State of Louisiana and Travelers Insurance as an insurance Adjuster. He was a charter member of Bocage Racquet Club, and taught ballroom dancing for BREC. In WWII her served with the U S Coast Guard, and the U S Army during Korea Conflict. He was a member of the Imperial Domain of the Golden Dragon. He is preceded in death by Frank M. and Hertha Baker Simmons, and a brother David Simmons. Survivors include his wife Marion D. Simmons, sister Ruth S. Brassett and her children, two stepsons Mark and Gary Jordan, their wives, children, and grandchildren. Arrangements with Church Funeral Services.
